Ingredients

  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients as directed on the box)
  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (plus ingredients as directed on the box)
  • 1 jar white cake frosting (or make your own)
  • Valentine’s Day sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Bake the Cakes: Start by preparing both the red velvet and strawberry cake mixes according to the instructions on the boxes. For a fun twist, I baked both mixes in a muffin tin, which makes it easier to cut the cake into perfect, round layers for the push-ups.
  • Cut the Cake: Once the cakes have cooled, use a round cutter to match the size of the push-up containers. Cut the muffins into rounds, which will form the layers for the push-up treats.
  • Layer the Push-Ups: Now for the fun part—assembling the push-ups! Layer the red velvet cake and strawberry cake in the push-up containers, alternating between the two flavors. Add a layer of white cake frosting between each layer of cake to create a creamy, smooth texture.
  • Frost and Decorate: Top each push-up with extra white frosting and add some festive Valentine’s Day sprinkles for a fun pop of color. The sprinkles make them extra cute and perfect for the holiday!
  • Use Leftover Cake for Cake Balls or Other Treats: Both cake mixes will make a lot of push-ups—around 24, so you’ll need extra frosting to cover them all! I only made 12, so I used the leftover cake to make cake balls. I simply crumbled the remaining cake, mixed it with some frosting, rolled it into balls, and froze them for my kids to enjoy later. Plus, I also used some of the leftover cake to make
